Happy Saint Patrick’s Day everyone.
The funny thing about St. Patrick’s day is that in Northern Ireland it is not as widely embraced as it is in other parts of the world.
It is somehow seen as ‘Nationalist’ by a lot of Unionists. Hopefully, given enough time, everyone here will feel comfortable with it. I for one hate to see an opportunity for a good time going to waste 🙂

[New Post] Saint Patrick’s Day… – via #twitoaster http://www.irishviews.com/blog/2011/03/s…
I found your website while looking for Irish screensavers. Your photos of Northern Ireland are beautiful and I’m hoping to plan a trip to Belfast next year. My grandmother’s family was born and raised in Belfast and then immigrated to the U.S. when my grandfather fell off a ship he was building and died. Even though many of our relatives went back to Belfast to visit, her and my grandfather didn’t have enough money for passage to go back. Until the day she died at 94 years old she wanted to return to her beloved Ireland. Thank you for allowing me to see the places where my grandmother and siblings called home.
Hi Kathleen.
Thanks for the comment. Sorry it took me so long to publish it!
I think you’ll love Northern Ireland if you get to visit so long as you don’t mind inclement weather…
I live in Michigan so I’m use to inclement weather. I’m sure I’ll love it.
Outstanding post about Saint Patrick’s Day. Thanks for giving info about northern Ireland.
Nah – it wasn’t, though flattery will get your everywhere….
